Dr. Michele Dimaira Dr. Michele Dimaira is a life-long resident of New Jersey. Born in Jersey City, she attended St. Dominic Academy before entering Douglass College (Rutgers University) on a full academic scholarship. She began her affiliation with dentistry in high school at the age of 14 while working for her orthodontist. She continued working as a dental assistant throughout college and then entered New Jersey Dental School to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. During dental school she was drawn to the field of Periodontics. She continued her desire to educate and treat this systemic-reaching disease during her general practice residency at Lyons, NJ. Ultimately, she pursued her goal to become a Periodontist at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Los Angeles. Dr. Dimaira's complete biography can be found here.
Clinical Staff Our clinical staff will work with you during your appointment to assist. Dr. Dimaira in completing your dental exam, professional cleanings or periodontal care, and any treatment that has been diagnosed. Our clinical staff continue their dental training through continuing education classes to maintain their professional skills.
Kathleen Mittermaier, Dental Assistant Kathy has been the chief dental assistant for Dr. Dimaira since the practice began. She is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and on-time. She is friendly and easy to talk to. She lives in Parsippany with her husband has 3 adult children. She is a proud grandma to a black and white Dachshund named Oreo.
Susan Dispenza, Hygienist Susan earned her Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1989. She has been practicing with Dr. Dimaira since 1999. She currently lives in Montville with her husband and two sons. She enjoys chatting with her patients and educating them concerning their oral health. She has a grey cat named Simon and a black and white named Max.

Karen Zabriskie, Office Manager & Dental Implant Coordinator Karen has been Dr. Dimaira's Office Manager/Dental Implant Coordinator for over 15 years. She is cross-trained as a chairside assistant as well as a front desk receptionist. Karen has excellent communication skills and will navigate our patients through their treatment plans and financial responsibilities. She lives in Rockaway with her husband, two sons, her dog Cosmo and cat named Bandit.
William Small, Network Administrator Bill joined our group in 2004 and serves as our Network Administrator. He attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. He completed his studies at the Chubb Institute in order to increase his expertise in Computer Science. He worked for IBM as a Project Manager and Certified Consultant. He lives in Parsippany with his sister Marlene.
Marlene Small, Insurance Specialist Marlene began working for Dr. Dimaira in 2008 and functions as our specialist in insurance matters. She graduated Newark State in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. After a brief career in teaching she worked for an insurance company for several years. She lives in Parsippany with her brother Bill. Marlene and Bill are siblings to our dental assistant Kathy.

The first visit is an opportunity for you to learn about us, and for us to become more familiar with you and your needs. We will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, mouth and gums. After the examination, you will be fully informed of our findings and recommended treatment options. There will be adequate time available for you to ask questions. We strive to keep you informed every step of the way.
