Dr. Dimaira is a
life-long resident of New Jersey. Born in Jersey City, she
attended St. Dominic Academy before entering Douglass College
(Rutgers University) on a full academic scholarship. She began
her affiliation with dentistry in high school at the age of 14
while working for her orthodontist. She continued working as a
dental assistant throughout college and then entered New Jersey
Dental School to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. During
dental school she was drawn to the field of Periodontics. She
continued her desire to educate and treat this systemic-reaching
disease during her general practice residency at Lyons, NJ.
Ultimately, she pursued her goal to become a Periodontist at
the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Los Angeles.
Dr. Dimaira
excelled at her post-graduate residency in Periodontics, being
the first resident to simultaneously obtain a Master of Science
Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. She
was also the first resident in over 20 years to obtain the
Distinguished Scholar Award from the Dental School (a University
– wide award). Dr. Dimaira has been featured in countless
newspaper and magazine articles regarding her achievements and
success stories.

Dr. Dimaira has
practiced Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in New Jersey since
1995. She is a Assistant Clinical Professor in Periodontics in
the Post-Graduate Periodontal Program at New Jersey Dental
School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She
is a frequent lecturer on topics including periodontal disease,
systemic ramifications of periodontal disease, implant surgery,
implant temporization and treatment planning. She is one of
only a few clinicians in the country that routinely performs
immediate implant dentistry (extraction of tooth and placement
of implant at same time) in all areas of the dentition –
including the very technique sensitive area of the molars.
Dr. Dimaira is a
resident of Montville, New Jersey. She is delighted that her
practice is in the same town where she lives so that she can be
close to the pride and joys of her life: her sons; Louis (8)
and Rocco (6). Her husband, Louis DiPede is a Professor of
Prosthodontics at New Jersey Dental School. They have been
married for over 20 years, having met in dental school at UMDNJ
in Newark in 1986. Dr. Dimaira enjoys singing in her church
choir, volunteering at her sons’ school , knitting and doing
cross-stitch in her spare time. |
