Dr. Gluck grew up on Long Island
where he was lucky enough to meet his best friend and future
wife (yes, same person) during his high school education.
Although she was “love at first sight”, and his only sight, his
areas of academic interest in college were eclectic, including
physics (engineering), computer science, business, and economics
while also completing various courses in the medical sciences.
With a major in economics, he graduated in three years from
Yeshiva University with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude, and
decided to remain there voluntarily for an extra year of
academic learning.
Dr. Gluck then went on to New
Jersey Dental School where he spent seven years of study,
earning his degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and
obtaining his certificate in Periodontics. After his freshmen
year in dental school, he chose to work during the summer in an
oral biology lab to learn and research one of the more
destructive bacteria involved in certain forms of aggressive
periodontal disease. His research was awarded a prestigious
award at Michael Balbo Day. At his graduation, Dr. Gluck also
received the “Dental Student Award” by the American Academy of
Periodontology in recognition of outstanding achievement in
periodontics.
As Chief Resident in the
periodontal department at UMDNJ, he dedicated himself to the
program and his fellow co-residents, working hard not only to
maintain the status quo but to enhance the experiences and
training received during residency. His position also awarded
him the opportunity to act as a liaison for guest speakers
and/or representatives from various dental companies.
During Dr. Gluck’s training in
periodontics, he learned traditional periodontal therapy as well
as implant surgery and its associated procedures. He had the
opportunity to train on five top implant systems and discover
the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of implant
manufacturers.
Dr. Gluck’s wife shares the same
passion for dentistry and is not only a specialist mom to
their two children, Benjamin (7) and Daniella (3), but also
holds a certificate in the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry. In
his spare time, Dr. Gluck enjoys spending time with his family
and playing various sports including softball, football, and
basketball. |
